Well it looks like Terminator 4 is still on; last weeks rumor of its demise has turned out to be bullshit. We get word of Moon Bloodgood joining the cast today thanks to our friends at comingsoon:
Moon Bloodgood (“Journeyman”) is in final negotiations for the female lead in director McG’s Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins, says The Hollywood Reporter. Bloodgood will star alongside Christian Bale, Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin in the fourth installment of the sci-fi series, being produced by Halcyon Co. and set for a Warner Bros. release on May 22, 2009.
Bloodgood will play a no-nonsense and battle-hardened member of the resistance.
Moon Bloodgood has the coolest name in Hollywood. I noticed her first in the horrible film Pathfinder. As the credits rolled I thought to myself “that name is better than the movie I just watched”. I welcome her addition to the cast and look forward to her performance as a resistance fighter.
This casting puts to rest last week’s rumor of cancellation. Most people seem to have a reserved optimism about this film, while others are skeptical about the director’s ability to handle the project. Shooting is set to begin May 5th and we will see soon enough. If the battle against the robots is one of majesty and maximum violence, I will be pleased to the core of my being. I love robots.
I was never big on the Terminator films but I loved Journeyman and Moon on Journeyman. I’m glad she’s picking up another big project. She deserves it since she hasn’t had the best breaks -considering she landed an improbably excellent show like Journeyman and had it get poorly publicized and then canned like it wasn’t NBC’s fault. And, yeah…wasn’t Pathfinder a worthless bunch of crap? I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks so. I just saw it on HBO and …ugh. No fault of Moon’s but holy historical comic book Batman.

Why do u need somebody to play the Terminator? If T4 is about the war then no actor is needed to play a Terminator. The T101 is first of all a fighting machine and the T101 800 Series we have seen in the first films is an infiltration cyborg with living tissue on it. But if we expect to see how that type of Terminator is send back to the past ok then an actor is needed.
That would be great!

do you think we really need somebody to play the cyborg version of the T101? I think if the story is good enough and there is a lot of robot action in it then it’s ok….

If they are ready to shoot in 2 weeks, I guess they already know WHO will be playing the Terminator. And they don’t mention Josh Brolin. Is he off the project? And if not him, why don’t they release a name of who will be cast? I mean, they have talked about T4 for years now, why the secrecy. Don’t they want to upset the Arnold-fans? …
That is a kickass name. And she’s gorgeous to boot.
I figure I’ll watch Terminator 4 anyway, so this just makes the appeal ever better.
