Paramount Pictures recently hosted an exclusive trailer launch event for the highly anticipated fantasy epic Children of Blood and Bone. The event took place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City, drawing a star-studded crowd to celebrate the upcoming project.
The evening featured a special Q&A session moderated by Lena Waithe, providing attendees with deeper insight into the production. Director and co-screenwriter Gina Prince-Bythewood was in attendance alongside several key members of the cast, including Thuso Mbedu, Tosin Cole, Lashana Lynch, Zackary Momoh, and Regina King. A New Fantasy Epic
Based on the novel by Tomi Adeyemi, the film is set in the fantasy world of Orïsha. The story follows a young woman on a quest to reclaim the magic stolen from her people. To succeed, she and her brother must form an alliance with the daughter and son of the king to challenge his brutal rule. The project boasts an expansive ensemble cast that features Academy Award winners and nominees, including Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Viola Davis, and Idris Elba.
Theatrical Release Details
Following the promotional event in New York, the studio confirmed that the official trailer for the film is scheduled for release. Fans can expect to see the footage soon as the marketing campaign ramps up for the theatrical debut. The film is currently slated to arrive in theaters, including Dolby Cinema, premium large formats, and IMAX, on January 15, 2027.
The production is a collaboration between Paramount Pictures, Domain Entertainment, and 2.0 Entertainment, with a production team led by Temple Hill and Sunswept Entertainment.
