Amazon MGM Studios has released the first look at “Relationship Goals”, an uplifting romantic comedy starring Kelly Rowland (Mea Culpa) and Cliff “Method Man” Smith (Power Book II: Ghost). Based on Michael Todd’s New York Times bestseller, the film explores love, ambition, and rediscovering purpose in a world where personal and professional goals collide.
A Battle of Love and Ambition
Rowland stars as Leah Caldwell, a brilliant television producer on the verge of making history as the first woman to lead New York’s top morning show. Just as she’s about to achieve her dream, her ex-boyfriend Jarrett Roy (Smith) returns, competing for the same job. Jarrett insists he’s changed — claiming the bestselling book Relationship Goals transformed his outlook on life.
As Leah’s circle of friends also begin reading the book, each of them reexamines their own relationships. But while others find new beginnings, Leah stays focused on breaking barriers — until her undeniable chemistry with Jarrett reignites feelings she thought she buried long ago.

The film also stars Robin Thede (A Black Lady Sketch Show), Annie Gonzalez (Flamin’ Hot), Dennis Haysbert, and Matt Walsh.

Adapted from Pastor Michael Todd’s inspirational guide Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex, the story translates his viral sermon series into a heartfelt and humorous film about modern love.
The screenplay is written by Michael Elliot, Cory Tynan, and Laura Lekkos, who collectively bring warmth, wit, and emotional depth to the adaptation.
