Netflix's Canelo vs Crawford - Press Conference

Canelo Álvarez and Terence Crawford Face Off at Final Press Conference

The boxing world turned its attention to Las Vegas today as undisputed Super Middleweight Champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez (62-2-2, 39 KOs) and undefeated four-division star Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) came face-to-face for the last time before fight night. The final press conference took place at the T-Mobile Arena, with UFC President and CEO Dana White and His Excellency Turki Alalshikh joining the two champions on stage.

The fighters are set to meet in a historic showdown on Saturday, September 13, live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The bout streams globally on Netflix at no additional cost to subscribers, beginning at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. Preliminary fights will air earlier on TUDUM.com, UFC’s YouTube, and WWE’s YouTube channels.

Canelo Álvarez: Pride and Preparation

Álvarez spoke confidently about his mindset going into fight week.

“I feel great. For me, this fight means a lot … I can’t wait for Saturday night … and I thank everybody coming to support the event.”

The Mexican superstar called the clash with Crawford one of the biggest fights of his career and promised fans would see his full arsenal on display.

“My best performance. I’m going to put everything I have [into this fight], and you’re going to see all my elements there in the fight.”

When asked about the possibility of a knockout, Canelo stressed that he was prepared for all outcomes.

“It’s very difficult to say … I prepare myself for everything. You have one of the best fighters facing one of the best fighters too… If the knockout comes, good. If not, I’m going to show why I’m the best.”

He also highlighted the significance of representing Mexico on such a global stage.

“Everybody knows how proud I am to be Mexican … Difficult moments mean great moments are coming, and great moments are coming for all of us.”

Terence Crawford: Chasing Greatness

Crawford, who enters the fight unbeaten and already a two-time undisputed champion, told reporters he was ready to shock the world once again.

“I’m feeling great. I’m ready to go shock the world.”

For Crawford, this bout is not just about his undefeated record but about elevating the sport itself.

“Fights like this help the sport of boxing grow, in the sense of having the best fight the best … it ain’t gonna do nothing but make the sport better.”

He sees victory as a defining chapter in his legacy.

“It’s going to be stamped in the history books, and the debate is going to be over.”

Crawford also leaned into humor when asked about Canelo’s advantages.

“The only thing he probably can beat me in is horseback riding … because I don’t ride horses. But anything else, he don’t come close.”

Confident and composed, he framed the fight as a risk worth taking.

“This is what legends are made from. It’s taking chances and risks like we’re doing right now.”
