Which Marvel Disney+ Show Was Originally Planned as a Movie?
Showrunner Bryan Andrews revealed that Marvel Zombies was initially conceived as a movie before being broken up into four episodes. In an interview with Collider, Andrews revealed that the show’s cinematic feel is a result of its origins as a film. The show, set in an alternate reality, follows a new generation of heroes as they battle against a zombie scourge.
Andrews explained that the idea of making Marvel Zombies a movie came first, but it was later decided to break it up into four episodes. This decision was made due to certain issues that arose, which ultimately led to the show’s current format.
The series features the voices of returning MCU stars, including Awkwafina, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Elizabeth Olsen, Randall Park, Florence Pugh, Dominique Thorne, Hailee Steinfeld, and Iman Vellani. It is directed by Bryan Andrews from a screenplay written by Zeb Wells, who is also serving as an executive producer.
Marvel Zombies is set to release on Disney+ on September 24, 2025.
