Bunny film hits $1 million worldwide in week one and heads to Japan and Thailand

Bunny!! has earned $1 million across North America and Europe in its first week of international play. The distributor 3388 Films announced the milestone on March 27. This makes the opening the second strongest ever for a Vietnamese title in those markets. The achievement shows that audiences are eager for fresh stories from Vietnam.

The film debuted on March 26 in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Norway, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The rapid rollout helped the movie reach the $1 million mark quickly. Fans in each country praised the tense plot and strong performances.

Writer and director Tran Thanh crafts a psychological thriller that follows a popular relationship advice host. The host’s world begins to fracture after a guest reveals a dark past. The story mixes suspense with emotional depth, a blend that attracts both thriller lovers and viewers looking for thoughtful cinema.

Expansion into Asian markets

Building on the momentum, 3388 Films will release Bunny!! in Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Mongolia on May 22. Additional European and Asian markets are planned later in the year. The expansion gives the film a chance to reach new fans and boost its international box office run.

Industry reaction

Thien A Pham of 3388 Films said the opening week performance is exhilarating. He noted that the audience demand for the film on the big screen is strong. The company is working around the clock across many territories to bring the movie to as wide a global audience as possible.

What this means for Vietnamese cinema

Bunny!! now stands as the top Vietnamese film of 2026 both at home and abroad. The success proves that Vietnamese movies can compete on the world stage. It also encourages distributors to invest in more Vietnamese titles for global release.
