First Look at Vega
The Street Fighter live action reboot just dropped its first behind the scenes image of Orville Peck as the legendary villain Vega. The photo appeared on Callina Liang’s Instagram story and was reshared by Peck himself. Fans can now see how the production team brings the classic arcade boss to life.
Vega’s Iconic Features
In the picture Peck wears Vega’s long blonde hair and a bright snake tattoo on his arm. The mask that hides Vega’s face is also visible. It is not yet clear if the mask will stay for the final version. The look stays true to the 1991 Street Fighter II design that introduced the Spanish ninja to gamers worldwide.
Cast Highlights
The movie gathers a star‑studded cast. David Dastmalchian joins the project to play the evil M Bison who commands Vega. Cody Rhodes, the current WWE Undisputed Champion, steps into the role of Guile. A previous teaser showed his silhouette and classic haircut, building excitement among fans.
Jason Momoa is rumored to portray the electric monster Blanka, while Roman Reigns is set to become Akuma, the fierce fighter who once killed Gouken, the master of Ryu and Ken. This lineup promises a mix of martial arts skill and cinematic charisma.
Director Vision
Kitao Sakurai now directs the film after Danny and Michael Philippou left the project. Sakurai is known for his work on The Eric Andre Show and brings a fresh visual style to the reboot. He also directs episodes of Amazon’s upcoming Butterfly and Peacock’s Twisted Metal, showing his range across genres.
While previous live action adaptations have had mixed results, the new team aims to honor the game’s legacy. The original 1994 movie starring Jean Claude Van Damme gained a cult following, but the 2009 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li was less well received. This time the producers want to deliver a film that satisfies both gamers and movie lovers.
What Fans Can Expect
Plot details remain under wraps, but the revealed costume and cast suggest a faithful yet modern take on the Street Fighter universe. The behind the scenes images give a glimpse of the high production value and attention to detail. As more photos surface, excitement continues to build.
Overall, the Street Fighter movie appears ready to become a milestone for video game adaptations. With Orville Peck’s striking Vega look, a powerful ensemble, and a director eager to push creative boundaries, fans have many reasons to stay tuned.
