In a recent interview, WWE Superstars Rhea Ripley and CM Punk gave their insights into this revealing new series, sharing how it showcases their real personalities and creative process behind the scenes.
Rhea Ripley Reveals Her True Personality Behind WWE Persona
Rhea Ripley, known for her fierce and intimidating persona in the ring, explained how fans might be surprised by the version of herself they’ll see in WWE: Unreal.
“I feel like they’re gonna see the real human side of me more than anything,” Ripley shared. “I’m completely different than what you see out there in the ring. I’m goofy, I’m stupid, I dance around doing random stuff. I talk to my dogs like they’re actual people. I baby-talk to them. It’s just completely different.”
Despite showing a softer and more playful side, Ripley emphasized that her authenticity behind the scenes doesn’t compromise her powerful presence when performing.
“Once I’m in the ring, I’m a completely different animal,” Ripley noted. “That’s me channeling something completely different. It’s like a switch that flips. People will get to see the softer side, but they’ll still respect and fear the in-ring character.”
CM Punk Talks About the Importance of WWE’s Creative Process
CM Punk, always known for his honesty, shared his perspective on what fans can gain from seeing the creative efforts behind WWE storytelling. Punk acknowledged that while he doesn’t believe revealing behind-the-scenes details is always necessary, he recognizes the value it offers fans.
“I don’t necessarily know if the peek behind the curtain is needed. Our fans are smart. I think they’re intelligent. I think they tune in to be entertained,” Punk stated. “But seeing the writers’ room and seeing how this sausage is made, it may just give them a greater appreciation of how hard our job really is.”
Punk also reflected on the evolution of WWE’s creative culture, praising the increased collaborative environment backstage and sharing his personal experiences.
“I’ve seen both sides. I’ve seen zero creative freedom, I’ve seen too much creative freedom, and I think creative is better when it’s collaborative,” Punk explained. “You give me this, and I think that’s terrible, but let’s find a way to make it work. We can make it good. The Undertaker spent 30 years making chicken salad out of chicken you-know-what, and he was pretty successful.”
Ripley and Punk Discuss Humorous Storylines and Fan Perceptions
