MCU Kang plans Quantummania

Marvel’s Secret Plan to Replace Kang with Doctor Doom Confirmed

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has confirmed that the studio had been planning to replace Kang the Conqueror with Doctor Doom in their upcoming projects. This move comes after the actor playing Kang, Jonathan Majors, was found guilty of reckless assault and harassment. Feige revealed that the pivot away from Kang was already in motion before Majors’ conviction and even before Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania underperformed at the box office.

The Origins of the Doctor Doom Casting

Feige stated that Marvel had started discussing Doctor Doom as a potential replacement for Kang even before officially pivoting from the character. He also revealed that he had started talking with Robert Downey Jr. about the idea before Ant-Man 3 was released. The two eventually came to an agreement, with Downey Jr. set to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

The move to replace Kang with Doctor Doom is a significant one for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Kang was initially set up as the next major villain in the MCU, but his character has since been reworked to focus more on his role as a time-traveling villain. Doctor Doom, on the other hand, is a long-time Marvel Comics villain who has been a thorn in the side of the Fantastic Four.

The Future of the MCU

The shift from Kang to Doctor Doom is a strategic move by Marvel to breathe new life into their villainous characters. By replacing Kang with Doctor Doom, Marvel is able to bring in a new and exciting character to the MCU, while also providing a fresh start for the franchise.

The future of the MCU is looking bright, with many exciting projects on the horizon. Fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Doctor Doom and the new direction that Marvel will take with the character.
