The latest animated feature, Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires, brings a exciting new take on the DC superhero. Set in Aztec Mexico, the film tells the story of Yohualli Coatl, a young boy who seeks to avenge his father’s death at the hands of the Spanish Conquistadors.

Yohualli flees to Tenochtitlan to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of the impending danger. Using the temple of the bat god Tzinacan as his lair, Yohualli trains with his mentor and assistant Acatzin to develop equipment and weaponry to confront the Spanish invasion and protect Moctezuma’s temple.
Produced entirely in Mexico, the project features Mesoamerican studies expert Alejandro Diaz Barriga working closely with the creative team to ensure accurate and respectful representation of the indigenous culture.
The Spanish audio version of the film boasts an impressive voice cast, including Horacio García Rojas, Omar Chaparro, and Álvaro Morte. The English voice cast includes Jay Hernandez and Raymond Cruz.

Directed by Juan Meza-Leon and produced by Jose C. García de Letona, Fernando De Fuentes, Aaron D. Berger, and Carina Schulze, Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires will be available on September 19th on Digital and September 23rd on 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD.
