Nolan Talks Batman 3 and Superman Reboot Directors

I wish they woudl stop interupting Christopher Nolan so he can finish his work on Batman 3 and throw some thumbs up at Superman reboot.

Nolan got chatting about the progress thus far, and its progress.

Obsessed with Film shares:

Although he was reluctant to dicuss Batman 3, he did give us some insight as to how far along the project was.

“I don’t like to talk too much about things until I’m further along with them. I’m working on the script right now. My brother Jonah has done a draft of the script and now I’m writing on it.”

When questioned about whether or not the movie was yet to be greenlit, Nolan said:

“We have set a release date [July 20th, 2012] and as far as the film being officially greenlit – they haven’t told me they don’t want to do it. So I’m hopeful!”

He also talked about the shortlist for a Superman director:

Tony Scott (Unstoppable, The Taking of Pelham 123)
Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield)
Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles, Clash of the Titans 2)
Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code)
Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch)

I am going to blindly vote for Matt Reeves to carry on the tradition of completely unrelated people in Superman films with Reeve in their name.

George Reeves played Supes in the 50s, Christopher Reeve played Superman in the late 70s and 80s, so its appropriate that they let Matt Reeves Direct.

Come on! Matt Reeves middle name is GEORGE. How can they pick anyone else???

Who would you pick.

  1. I love the style that Zack Snyder brings to his movies. Watchmen is one of the best super heroes movies I’ve ever seen, with 300 been so freakingly good visually that I still go back and watch it from time to time. And just saw the trailer for Sucker Punch and I’m ALL in. So hell yeah, he gets my vote!

  2. I think Ducan Jones would be a good choice, He wouldn’t get it because he has only directed one released film. He made “Moon” for 5 million and it was one of the best sci fi films I’ve seen. Imagine what he could do with a character like Superman and a big budget.

  3. Anyone but Zack Snyder, who’d be my absolute last choice…which probably means he’ll get the job, creating a Xerox of Superman 2 with all the action filmed at one-quarter speed, making the overall film take at least twice as long.

  4. Dude!, I just saw the “OWL” movie w/ my kid, and I have to say it surpassed all I was expecting(not that I was waitin’ for much) but the animation was spot on and the story was good.

Zack rocked those Fuckin’ Owls man!

and I forgot it was his flick.

(I did see his stamp all over the action-cut to slo-mo all over this, but his visuals and the spots he picks are nothing short of awesome.

    even with OWLS!

      1. Darkness Falls scared the shit out of me. That was before I threw myself into the world of horror. I was afraid to ride elevators alone for weeks afterwards.

I don’t think he’d be a good fit for Superman though.

    1. well there was that scene in ‘returns’ where they shoot a bullet at his eye. Probably the best scene in that movie and that is not saying much. But I agree 100% that Zach should direct.
