Let Me In – Trailer

For those of you who are really into the current Vampire fad, or for those who aren’t interested in sparkling vampires do I have a trailer for you.

Let Me In, is a remake of the 2008 Swedish film “Let The Right One In.” It stars Kick-Ass’s Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee, With Matt Reeves Directing.

The trailer is very interesting, and the mood of the film seems just right.

  1. Let the Right One In was an amazing, amazing movie… I honestly thought that there was no way a studio from our country could do this movie justice — and the fact that they ‘Americanized’ it, locating it in an American city, made me have my doubts… but that trailer was amazing… and that Chloe girl was *the* standout in Kick-Ass, which I thought was one of the best two or three movies of the year.

BTW: It was also a very, very good book. Watch the original Swedish film, and read the book, both are different enough that they’re great in their own rights. Don’t be afraid of the subtitles… and don’t not see it because there’s an American version coming soon. If the American one’s good, it’ll be different in its own (good) way and stand on its own.

  2. It looks like a shot for shot remake of the original. I’m sure the darker themes of the film won’t be there either. I actually just watched Let The Right One In again, today. Movie gets better each time I see it. I wonder if the connotations of Oskar wanting to be a serial killer will also be a big angle in the story too? I dunno, a lot of the original are themes that don’t sit well with american audiences. I would also like to add that saying it’s from the director of cloverfield, makes me want to see it less. I thought cloverfield was a huge piece of shit.

  3. Awesome! Looks great! I like seeing the little girl from Kick-Ass. She’s a good little actress. Her career is really picking up and she deserves it more than some actresses several times her age.

  4. I don’t care if it’s the remake of a movie that came out 6 months ago (mostly impossible, but whatev) as long as it takes us away from the teen emo vampires and back to the scary ones then I’m all for it.
    Go scary vamps, go!

  5. i can’t wait to see it, but i can’t help it but pause the trailer and notice similar scenes with Swedish film, i hope this version is a lil different

  6. Hmm…Interesting.
Since this project was announced everyone involved has been saying that it will be an adaptation of the novel and not a straight-up remake of the fantastic Swedish film. After seeing the trailer, I’m not convinced of that. Some of the images are carbon copies of the original.

    1. Yea Dave, it does look very similar. The fire in the hospital, the swimming pool, the body in the snow, the couple in the apartment…I wonder if they threw in the scene with all the cats? I can’t say the movie will suck, I just don’t wanna see something that I saw 2 years ago where the only difference is the actors and some dialogue is changed. But given that, if it’s just like the original, then newcomers will love it.

      1. Yeah–at least it will bring an awesome story to American audiences that wouldn’t have otherwise watched the original (and perhaps motivate a few to check out the Swedish version). The bummer of it all in my opinion is that their going to dilute a lot of the creepy awesome stuff that was present in the original. For instance, (SPOILERS) I’ve read the vampire is no longer a castrated boy and that the subtle pediphile themes between “her” and her initial caretaker are omitted. Also, you just can’t expect an American film to have the same deliberate pacing that made the 2008 version work so well.
Let’s just pray the Kick-Ass girl tears it up. So far, I think she’s great.
