Here we go again. Isn’t time for some new casting confirmation regarding the future Avengers film? At least, a rumor no? Well, we are in luck; this is the latest on the Avengers roster. Enjoy…
ComicBookMovie.com has sources close to Marvel who are saying that two roles are close to being filled. Firefly’s Nathan Fillion — who was first rumored to be involved with Marvel back in May — is still the frontrunner to take on the part of Dr. Hank Pym while Eva Longoria will reportedly play Janet Van Dyne.
The source adds that Longoria — who’s been rumored for this part since 2008, when she was spotted outside the Marvel offices with a stack of comics — is a done deal. Fillion, meanwhile, is apparently in final negotiations for a multi-film deal that would start with The Avengers and then cover sequels or spin-offs. With Comic-Con right around the corner, everyone’s expecting official announcements from the show.
So here you have it again. What do you guys think about this? I don’t mind Fillion, but as always, I’m on the fence about Longoria taking any part on this roster. At least she’s eye candy, so for that, I won’t protest. I don’t mind having them added to an already awesome cast. Since they are supporting characters in this one, I’m ok with it.

What do I think? I think this is all a plie of muck, that’s what I think. Don’t get me wrong- with Joss making The avengers, I would not mind (much less anyone else) see him reunite with some of his Usual Suspects, thus I don’t have any problem with Nathan Fillion’s name being in a rumor mill.
I always saw Pull Pullman in the back of my mind, but again, no problem if there’s anything to Fillion signing.
Still- I think is is a crank.
Now, if the rumor mill said Alana De La Garza…
I am happy about the Fillion part but Longoria as wasp? LOngoria is a big fail for me, I hated her on Desperate Housewives and pretty much the whole show as well. Watched a few episodes of the first season and that was about it.
Can’t they think of someone a tad hotter and about ten years younger? Longoria best days are behind her.
What about Lucy Liu? And Munn is a good candidate too
Dude i so want Fillion to get this role. I don’t care who wasp is Nate dog can carry them, I mean he carries castle cause that chick who plays Becket is dry as hell. Nate Fillion is awesome (gonna rewatch firefly now and get all depressed when it ends)
Man, everyone loves to hate on these casting announcements every time Marvel announces something (or, presumably, i guess). Here’s my thought on it: obviously Fillion seems like a great choice. The fanboys all love him, and from all i’ve seen, he’s a good actor that i can really see meshing well with the rest of this all-star team. Longoria, yes, i’ll agree she wouldn’t be one of my top choices (who even knew she was relevant anymore actually..), but i’m sticking with my philosophy that Marvel hasn’t let me down on any casting since creating their own studio. Marvel knows what they want. If Longoria’s been in the works for this since ’08 then i think they’ve probably got a pretty good look at her and know what they’re getting. Just because she’s not “as hot” as some of you want, or hasn’t had the best success with some of her previous work doesn’t mean she won’t work for this. And trust me, i’m in no way some Eva Longoria superfan or anything (like i said before, i wasn’t even aware she was still relevant). But it frustrates me when all of you act like you know what’s best for these movies. Sure, everyone has their dream casts, but for the most part, i think Marvel’s done a good job of giving us what we want (as compared to like Fox or Sony who have completely obliterated the franchises they own). I think for now, at least for me, I’ll assume Marvel has plenty of reasons to believe she’s the right choice for this role. If i see it and she sucks, or ruins the film, i won’t have a problem saying so.
No problems with Fillion in the role.
Longoria on the other sheds some insight on the direction they’re planning to take the Wasp. With her in the role, they have to be thinking to make her the “chick” of the group. The Wasp was often portrayed as somewhat flighty early on in the series, but since the 90s she’d really grown as a character. So much so that she lead the Avengers for a time. I can’t see Longoria playing a strong female character. As many have already stated, with her in the role the Wasp will be little more than eye candy.
On a different note, having Longoria play the Wasp also lessen my anticipation for an Ant Man spinoff. You’d have to figure that she’d be involved with that movie as well as the Wasp and Ant Man characters are so intertwined
I think Nathan fillion is perfect for Hank pym/antman but Parker as wasp I dnt know about and I agree with 420 she is average at best and her acting does suck but they are only going to be second stringers everybody knows it and totally off topic but the proposed film for the uncharted game franchise who thinks Nathan fillion would be the perfect drake I mean he’d have to dye his hair black but other than that he’s perfect we know he can do action and he has the right comedic timing for drakes witty remarks and he’s got the charm part down so what does anyone else think

I mean really, shes pretty much average at best.
