Parenting Class

Family

Mommy and Daddy are going back to school in Parenting Class. We get wind of this film from the professionals at Variety:

Overture Films has decided to enroll in “Parent Class,” buying a pitch from the scripting team of Toni Kotite and Marty Scott in a preemptive deal and setting it up with James Gibb. Story’s centered on a divorced couple who can’t agree on how to raise their son and are ordered to attend a parenting class.

Domestic issues: The Movie! This film sounds like an after school special for confused parents that need help raising their children. I am sure this film may be of interest to some, but I am certainly skeptical that it will be a film that will tickle my fancy.

The Squid and the Whale was a fantastic film that dealt with the issue of divorce, so I am not opposed to films that deal with this issue; it just seems that this plot is too centered on the parents in the classroom. I could be way off base, but until we have more information my speculation will be pessimistic.
