Mike White (writer: School of Rock and director: Year of the Dog) Is going to be teaming up With Shaun of the Dead director Edgar Wright for the upcoming film: Them. The film will be based of the book by Jon Ronson. We get the story from an interview at slashfilm and the Following quote from Mike White that describes the collaboration:
“I’m writing a script with him [Edgar] now. It’s like a conspiracy theory comedy horror movie. It’s a little bit out of my wheel house and a little bit more in his wheel house. I loved Shaun of the Dead and we talked about writing something together, so once our movies are finally out there and put to bed, we’re going to get together and hopefully bang it out.”
In the interview White goes on to say that Jack Black “may very well be involved” and it is suggested that the Sean Of The Dead boys Simon Peg and Nick Frost could be involved as well. The School of Rock Crew uniting with the Sean of the Dead posse could very well be a Voltron combination of hilarious. It will be interesting to see what kind of film the collaboration will produce; will it be glorious? or will too many cooks spoil the pot?
