A little while ago we read about a more light hearted superhero movie, much in the vein of The Incredibles where the normal, everyday life of Superheros is examined with comedy in mind. It’s Super Ex, due out in 2007 and directed by Ivan Reitman. According to Digital Spy they’ve just signed the super-female lead to star alongside Luke Wilson:
Uma Thurman will play a superhero who uses her powers against her ex-boyfriend in romantic comedy Super Ex, reports Variety.
I think this could work out well, Thurman has some good comic timing and she’s an all round actress that needs a different role to surprise us all. Perhaps a good bout of comedy could do just that. Could there have been a better choice? What about the similarities of this movie to Incredibles, and indeed, Bewitched? Is that going to be a problem, or is it just enough of a combo to work?
