Over at Coming Soon they have the first photos of Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon from the movie set of The Da Vinci Code. Check the link to see them full size.
Well, still doesn’t make me think of the character, although you can picture him as a professor, I just don’t think he feels like the character read. However, we’ve seen Hanks in some roles before that you could not picture him in before the movie, so we’ll have to go with it and see how it turns out. It’s not like Ron Howard doesn’t know what he’s doing is it?

I have read the “Rule of Four” written by Ian Caldwell & Dustin Thomason, which is somehow similar in plot with “Da Vinci Code”. I thought that was better written and can also be another good film project if they keep following the trend.
Rich, “Angels and Demons” was a better read until you reach the events leading to the end again, from there its just laughable.
No, Brown really needs to be taught how to not start the damn book in the first place…
Agreed. The book is very badly written. It’s almost an identical, although much poorer, copy of his earlier work Angels and Demons. I read that first and preferred it.
I agree with you there Lou. Brown needs to be taught how to properly FINISH a book.

The film will probably come off better than the book. The book while popular is terribly written.
I have always contended that Robert Langdon’s character is not some special character that is very hard for an actor of Tom Hanks calibre to be able to portray. For one thing, Hanks being cast as Langdon will be very good for the film.
