Anyone Want A Lightsaber?

Lightsaber4.jpgOh man! What I wouldn’t give to have roughly $140,000 on me right now! Apparently at the end of July there is going to be an auction for the ORIGINAL lightsabers used by Luke and Darth Vader which is expected to fetch around (as you’ve probably already guessed) about $140,000!

Also up for auction is the original orange pilot jumpsuit worn by Luke in the first Star Wars, Yoda’s mask and other goodies. You know, I really don’t mind not being rich… life is about a lot more than money. But on days like this I wish I was freaking loaded! The good folks over at M&C also added in this little disclaimer as a public service announcement:

But buyer beware. The sabres do not light up as they did on screen – their glowing appearance was all down to special effects.

Don’t laugh. I’ll bet there are a bunch of rocket scientists out there who probably thought they did light up.

  1. I dunno, it’s a little pricy for a slap in the face. Pump out $140,000 bones for an authentic lightsaber used by the films actors is (if you wipe your ass with $100 bills)worth it, just don’t do it to impress a girl.

“Hey cutie, wanna see my lightsaber?”

    “You sick PIG!” SLAP

    “Ouch”

“Piece of shit lightsaber, oh well.”

*throws lightsaber in garbage and walks away head held high, hands in pockets, and whistling*

But don’t worry, someone gets the girl. A homeless man finds the lightsaber and auctions it off on e-bay for 3x what it’s worth and gets his life in order. He meets the slap happy girl and they fall in love.

Meanwhile the rejected is at home crying over how every girl he meets slaps him when he gets a call that a new face in town has taken over Microsoft, he turns on the tv and sees a wealthy man with the girl who slapped him. I could tell you the end to this but this post has gotten to the point of irrelevance to the topic.

If I had the money I would indeed blow it on the lightsaber. But what do I know about being wealthy?

  2. You would be surprised John, I actually have Darth Vaders Lightsaber and it lights up, it just doesn’t cut through metal is all.Check out MasterReplicas the sabers are for collectors and they are not to expensive, they look like the real deal I bet you wouldn’t be able to tell between the 140k one and the one I have.
