And the banging of my head against hard objects continues. Stupidity abounds my friends. Usher (yeah, the MUSIC star) is getting a big leading role in a film. Once again the great whore known as the marketing department is selling out the quality of movies to get a couple of extra asses in the theater to see the film (which they would get more of if they concentrated on making a good film instead of MTV extended videos). Damn, I’m just sick of this. Here’s the scoop from Cinema Confidential:
R&B/hip-hop star will star in “Dying for Dolly,” a new film will be directed by Ron Underwood (“City Slickers”). Emmanuelle Chriqui and Chazz Palminteri round out the cast.
The movie tells the story of a loyal aide (Usher) to a Mafia don (Palminteri), who is assigned to protect the don’s daughter (Chriqui). However, the don is unaware that his daughter and employee share a mutual crush.
Well, at least the plot sounds as stupid as the casting choice.

He is one that I just don’t get why they are famous, along with Paris Hilton, Jessica Simpson, and Nicole Richie. May I have some wall space too?
