Disney To Make ‘Jungle Cruise’ Movie

JunglecruiseIt turns out Disney is developing another movie based off one its popular Disneyland rides.

Moviesonline gives us this:

They are developing a movie called “Jungle Cruise” it is based on the Disneyland ride where you travel the jungle with a riverboat guide and encounter wild animals along the way. The film is under development but no word on who will direct or star in the project.

Well whipdee frigging doo! Sorry, I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, but I really don’t care to see another Disneyland ride turned into a movie. I know it did wonders for ‘Pirates of the Carribbean,’ but they really should write that off as a fluke, and leave it alone. Now it’s just obvious that they’re doing this project purely to make huge amounts of money like they did with the POTC series.

What’s next? A film adaptation of ‘Enchanted Tiki Room’ or ‘Space Mountain?’ You know what Disney? You know what I would like to see? A sequel to ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit.” Make that happen!!

  1. O.K. Obviously some of you people are not very smart here. I dont think that ANYONE wants to see a jungle cruise movie, especially if it turns out as gnarly as The Haunted Mansion. Disney is now known for tampering with rides by making movies, then placing the movies back into the rides. Somebody needs to tell Disneyland to leave it’s a small world alone, as they are revamping the ride to include, you guessed it, Disney characters. I have caught rumor that they want to make a cgi film out of small world, which would make me really sick. As for splash mountain, jungle cruise, they were both roughly based off of films. I always find it funny how Disney did not mind building Splash Mountain, yet they wont release the film that it is based on..STUPID! On a new note, anyone agree that the Peter Pan Platinum Edition was god awful? No more red men, and no more deep blues, or greens. What is Disney thinking. (RELEASE UNEDITED ROGER RABBIT!!)

  3. It is really funny you say that about Splash Mountain… Maybe you should do some research before posting because if they did a movie based on Splash Mountain then they would just be doing a remake of a movie… The ride Splash Mountain is based on Disney’s “Song of the South”. It came out in 1946…

  4. You should really just stop writing articles. They are nothing but bitching and complaining, and frankly it just turned me off to the site. You should be more careful there are hundreds of other movie related sites for poeple to go to besides this one, and I bet you cant afford to lose many more. JSYK theMovieBlog.com you should probably let this person go, they’re costing you visitors which you are probably very desperate for.

  5. Hmm…wow…someones a little bitter eh? Welll heyyyy mister Grumpy gills…man up…stop pouting and accept the fact that yes….are you ready for the secret? Movie Studios make movies with the expressed intention of….DUN DUN DUNNNNN making money! *gasp* I know I know…shocker

  6. I honestly think Disney wants to make more money off the theme park and have more people come to Disney, not as if many family are taking trips to Disney. There are so many other movie ideas rather than just making a movie off of a ride in there park.

Umm…yeah! As John continually reminds us the movie business is a business!

  8. If I wanted to watch a Jungle Cruise movie, I would just watch African Queen, or even Apocalypse Now. Now imagine a cruise ride based on Apocalypse Now LOL….clouds of napalm, avoiding arrows from the VC, and ‘The End’ playing in the background….I need a life.

Ok i’ll level with you Serena. I would die to see ‘Enchanted Tiki Room the movie’ just so i could hear Mr Trailer Voice say it in a booming manner.

  10. Even though I am not a fan of remakes, but a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea would be cool. The one from Disney in 1954 is getting a little dated. And don’t get me started on the scenes with a singing Kurt Douglas.
