Godzilla Minus Zero Trailer and Poster Reveal New IMAX Spectacle

The King of the Monsters is back. TOHO and GKIDS have unveiled the official poster and teaser for Godzilla Minus Zero, the highly anticipated follow-up to the Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. Directed by Takashi Yamazaki, the new film is set to continue the story of the Shikishima family as they face an all-new calamity in 1949.

A New Calamity Approaches

Picking up two years after the events of the previous film, the story sees the return of several key characters. Ryunosuke Kamiki reprises his role as Koichi Shikishima, alongside Minami Hamabe as Noriko Shikishima. The cast also features the return of Hidetaka Yoshioka, Yuki Yamada, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Sakura Ando, and Mio Tanaka. Additionally, legendary actor Min Tanaka joins the ensemble as Kanji Murakami, a biologist dealing with the psychological scars of the war.

A Cinematic Event

This latest entry marks a significant milestone for the franchise as the first-ever Japanese production to be Filmed For IMAX. The film was captured using high-definition digital cameras certified by IMAX and optimized specifically for the large-format experience. Following the massive global success of its predecessor, which earned over $116 million worldwide, expectations for this new chapter are incredibly high.

Release Information

The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in Japan on November 3, 2026, a date that honors the original 1954 debut of the franchise. North American audiences can catch the film when GKIDS launches a wide theatrical release on November 6, 2026, with Cineplex Pictures supporting the rollout in Canada. International release dates for other territories are expected to be announced in the coming months.
