Disney Celebrates America Initiative Launches for Fourth of July Weekend

Disney is launching Disney Celebrates America, an expansive company-wide initiative designed to honor the nation’s 250th anniversary. The festivities span across Disney parks, entertainment platforms, and live events, aiming to connect audiences through storytelling and community engagement throughout the Fourth of July weekend.

Park and Resort Festivities

Guests at Walt Disney World Resort can expect a variety of patriotic offerings, including performances by the Voices of Liberty and the United States Air Force Band of the West. The resort will feature the Celebrate America! fireworks display, the Electrical Water Pageant, and a U.S. Air Force Reserve flyover above Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Additionally, the Portraits of Courage exhibit honoring post-9/11 veterans will continue its run.

At Disneyland Resort, the celebration includes the debut of Soarin’ Across America at Disney California Adventure Park. Visitors will also see the return of the Celebrate America! fireworks spectacular, an enhanced flag retreat ceremony, and a special cavalcade featuring Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in new patriotic attire. Disney Cruise Line is also participating with themed dining and onboard holiday festivities.

Extensive Broadcast Coverage

Beyond the parks, the company is rolling out an unprecedented 24-hour, cross-platform broadcast starting the evening of July 3 through July 4. The coverage will span ABC, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, National Geographic, FX, Freeform, and ABC News Live. Anchored by David Muir, the programming will feature live celebrations and performances from all 50 states.

Highlights of the broadcast include a live Nashville celebration featuring major musical performances and a large-scale fireworks and drone show. ESPN will also contribute with a special two-hour SportsCenter on July 4, focusing on American sports culture. This coordinated effort showcases the scale of Disney’s media networks working in tandem to deliver a unified holiday experience for viewers nationwide.
