The iconic heavy metal band is back, and so is the mockumentary format that made them famous. In the sequel to the 1984 cult classic, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, the band is reunited and it feels so good. Well, until they start arguing again.
What We Know About Spinal Tap II: The End Continues
Directed by Rob Reiner, who also reprises his role as documentarian Martin Di Bergi, the film sees David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), and Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest) back together again. The band’s manager Ian Faith (Tony Hendra) has passed away, leaving his widow with a contract that says Spinal Tap owes them one more concert. If they don’t comply, she’ll sue them.
The band’s back together, and so are the absurdities and hilarities that made the original so beloved. Elton John, Paul McCartney, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood will all make appearances, along with Paul Shaffer, Fran Drescher, Don Lake, John Michael Higgins, Nina Conti, Griffin Matthews, Kerry Godliman, and Chris Addison.
The film hits cinemas on September 12th, and fans of the original will be eager to see what’s next for Spinal Tap. Will they finally get their act together and deliver a killer performance? Or will their egos get in the way once again?
