Pandorum Actress Joins Superman Man Of Steel – Now I’m Really There!

The role of Faora, General Zod’s right hand femme fatale, has been cast with Antje Traue, one of my favorite rising actresses. I could not be more surprised, or more happy. Digital Spy reports:

Variety confirms that Traue will play a female villain called Faora, an ally of the film’s main enemy General Zod, who will be portrayed by Michael Shannon.

Faora was believed to be the inspiration for the female villain Ursa, who appeared in both the 1978 film Superman and its 1980 sequel Superman II and was portrayed by actress Sarah Douglas.

The actress first came to my attention -as many others- as being one of the bright spots in the 2009 sci-fi horror hybrid film Pandorum, a film which I overall liked but a few others didn’t. But she was a standout in that film in my book. Okay, truth is I would have seen Man Of Steel without her too- the cast list is so impressive I’d be crazy not to. Amy Adams, Diane Lane and now Antje. Oh. My. God. Desses. I never thought in a zillion years I’d be geeked out over the Supey reboot – something which I had been skeptical on from the start.

Today is a new day for me. Man Of Steel looks to be very promising as it develops.
