McKellen is the Voice of Stardust

Ian McKellen is one of those cool notable figures that just makes a role. He was undeniably good as Gandalf in Lord of the Rings, as well as pefectly suited to play Magneto in XMen. He just demands a presence. He doesnt even have to be on screen as his voice carries a warm yet commanding tone. Apparently those casting for Stardust think so too.

Yahoo News says:

He will voice the narrator role in “Stardust,” whose cast includes Claire Danes, Robert De Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Production wrapped in the fall. McKellen is recording his part during postproduction before “Stardust’s” July 27 release date via Paramount Pictures.

The film centers on a young man who promises his beloved that he will retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the Faerie realm, where he encounters witches, goblins, gnomes, talking animals and evil trees.

Fantasy is not new to McKellan, and it may draw some close comparisons to Lord of the Rings as many fantasy films are.

Personally I cant wait to see Danes and Pfeiffer in a fantasy movie. Both are beautiful, and a big part of fantasy films is the eyecandy. Oh and that DeNiro guy is in it too. I hear he is ok at this acting thing.

  1. LadyHawke is hands down one of my favourite movies of the 80s. And to this date my favourite performance of Matthew Broderick. (which says a lot considering Ferris Beuller and the Producers) I own it on DVD.

But the instrumental is absolutely nauseating. They should remaster that movie with a new score.
