Over at Rope of Silicon they’ve managed to get hold of some new pictures of the Transporter 2 movie.
The stills look pretty cool, and there’s few shots of some stylised action as well as the main female character. I’ve still got some hope for this movie, I mean the first was great entertainment, and when something like The Island can do so well, why can’t this movie which is publicly pitched at being fun, over the top, entertainment and not as something higher than it’s station.

I thought the first Transporter was an awesome movie and Jason Stratham is a kick ass actor. He is perfect for this role…actually he needs to be exploited a little more. But i do look forward to seeing him in more movies to come.
I am glad to see it is just as good as the first one.

I’m in France and i saw this movie last week (released on 3 august here). It is bigger, better, and faster than the first one. I really enjoy it. But Lola, the evil female character, really have a minor role. She’s not the main evil character and have a quick death.
Jason Statham rocks in this role ^^.
Yeah, it had a huge budget to start with, Transporter won’t. Island was just some big fun entertainment trying to be packaged as something different. Whereas Transporter is just packaged as that, so if it’s upfront then at least it’s not trying to fool anyone and with a lower budget…
I liked the first one. I’m looking forward in seeing this one.

I’m not sure what you mean by “…when something like The Island can do so well, why can’t this movie…” Although I thought the island was great it only managed to make 75mil worldwide with a production budget of 120million.
