For those of you who may not know, Brad Bird is the amazing Director of The Incredibles. As I was surfing around last night I came across an interesting little interview with him on FilmFocus.Com.
In the interview they discussed the possibilities of a sequel to The Incredibles (man I hope they do one some day). Bird said he MIGHT consider it, IF they got the whole original team back to do it. This is where it got fun. Bird went on to say:
keeping the same team is crucial to a good sequel, as Brad explained as he talked about the possibility of Toy Story 3 being made without Pixar, “I wouldn’t even want to see Toy Story 3 without Pixar,” he said, “It’s kind-of like seeing Lord of The Rings 4 without Peter Jackson. Would you want to see that? Joe Schmo as Frodo or something? You want the original people who made the film. All of my favourite sequels were done by the original team.
Amen brother! Memo to Disney: It’s not too late to stop the madness. DO NOT do a Toy Story 3 without Pixar. Just let it go. You’ll only embarrass yourselves.
very calmly put Brad. Disney, PLEASE STOP this project at once. What happened to the old disney we all used to know? Where’s the judgement? Going CGI is not going to solve your story issues, and just because you have the rights to TOY STORY doesn’t mean that you can pull this off!

actually that title gave me some insane hope that they had managed to get brad & pixar n board somehow. glad/sad to see it’s not true.
I read your title and immediately turned away thinking “Please God do not tell me Brad Bird will lower himself to getting involved with TS3!” And then I read the rest and felt much better. Your title could be take the other way too though. Don’t ever scare me like that again.
TS3 will probably be shit, but it WILL make money. That’s all that matters to the Disney stock. :-\
