Forgotten Hottie: Sean Patrick Flanery

sean-patrick-flanery.jpgI always thought that Sean Patrick Flanery had the looks and the talent to get to A-list status, and never really understood why he has not managed to get there yet.

I remember the day I first went ga-ga over Mr. Flanery. It was when I first watched him play the charismatic character, Max in one of my fave films, ‘Suicide Kings’. I couldn’t believe he was the same man who played the main character in ‘Powder.’ (his most notable role…well besides playing the young Indiana Jones of course. :P)

When he was in the hit cult film, ‘The Boondock Saints’ as one of the viligantes, I was SURE his career was going to sky rocket. Unfortunately, besides straight to DVD films, and seeing him as a regular guest star on CSI and The Dead Zone, true Sean Patrick Flanery fans have yet to see him in something truly great and worthy of his presence. Hopefully, we’ll see him on the big screen again. (Or I’m just going to have to buy a new copy of ‘Suicide Kings.’ I watched it so much, it skips. :P)

  1. I LOOOVE HIM, I LIKED HIM IN SUICIDE KINGS, BESTMEN (WITH DREW BARRYMORE) POWDER “SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE”.
HE IS A TALENTED ACTOR AND OBVIOUSLY VEEERY “EASY TO THE EYE” I HOPE WE CAN ENJOY HIS WORK SOON! HE IS 41 AND HE STILL LOOKS GOOD!

  2. Sean Patrick Flannery is 41?! Powder and Young Indiana Jones Chronicles are what I remember him most for but yeah it’s a shame he hasn’t had the level of success I thought he could have.

  3. I thought his career would have went into hyperspace after The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Maybe he can play Indy if they decide to do a fifth film…can’t believe he is 41 now.

  4. The movie being 12 years old, Powder has fallen off my radar a bit. But, for a year or two after it came out, it was one of my favorite movies. It’s sometimes hard to believe that he’s the same guy that plays the extra-corrupt politician on The Dead Zone. I’m not sure I’ve seen him in anything else though.

  5. I’ve often wondered about Sean’s career as well! I think he’s a solid, extremely versatile actor. “Powder” and “The Boondock Saints” are two of my favorite movies. He very much deserves to break out to the next level of success.
