Seems as though there’s another Poltergeist movie in the works. I would take this with a pinch of salt seeing as it’s Ananova, however their source is Moviehole, so this might be okay.
called Poltergeist: Kayeri will deal with Native American mythology, according to Moviehole.net.
The Incredibles star Craig T Nelson, who played the father in the first two Poltergeist films, is in negotiations to return for a fourth film.
I liked the original, and the one with the Preacher, was that II or III? I think that was II because III was the tower block which just felt odd. Anyway, appetite for a fourth? I would say perhaps, if they could recapture that original feel. What about you?

Kane the preacher was in both II and III, although he was played by a different actor in III (Julian Beck passed away).

OK, first things first. Been getting a few emails asking about news items at places like WENN and the Internet Movie Database suggesting I’m involved in a new “Poltergeist” movie. Unfortunately, nothing very exciting to respond to that – it’s old news.
It’s something that didn’t actually come from this site, I actually got the same email sent to myself (apparently it originated in an IMDB forum – from another writer) but hoped most would not post it. Anyway, can I comment? Yah, To an extent. There’s been discussions with Ms Pascal, but with the whole MGM/Sony kafuffle of late, a lot of projects have been put on simmer. At the moment there’s no real steam gathering around the “Poltergeist” franchise. The news, I’m afraid, is a good year or two old. Still, I’m a huge fan of that series and I’d be just as excited as the next guy to find out what the Freeling’s are up to these days. Craig T.Nelson’s a fantastic actor/guy and deserves a nice big fat vehicle to show us what ‘he’s still got’. (Hear he’s wonderful in “The Family Stone”).

Poltergiest is one of my favorite scary movies, it freaked me out as a kid and still creeps me out now. I always tend to watch it this time of the year too.
I don’t know how I feel about a 4th one. I never bothered with the 3rd, so a 4th? Besides, the girl who played Carol Ann died a few years back, so if they’re going to cast Craig T. Nielson it’ll be interesting to see what they’re going to do.
It would seem to me that if they want to do a 4th they should almost start over with another family or maybe families? Then again wouldn’t that just be a remake? Maybe they should just leave it alone.
