I like to rag on George Lucas. A lot. Oh sure, he’s made some pretty solid movies that you’ve probably heard of. And he seems to be the reverend of all polished facial hair everywhere. So why the ragging? I dunno. I’m sure I could start out with a list, … [Read More]

Title=Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit
Score=10
Summary=Superbly rich and very funny entertainment with jokes and references for all ages. This is possibly the best and definitely biggest outing for Wallace & Gromit. Filled with lovable characters to whom you get attracted without realising, and some of the bizarrest storylines and inventions you’ll ever see. Superb comedy, excellent fun, I can’t fault it.
I just read a very short article over at Entertainment Weekly where the critic answers readers questions, and they were asked what the most disturbing death scene is, they answered in an unusual way: it’s hard to beat the childhood-scarring trauma of one hand-drawn deer’s demise in Bambi, with innocence … [Read More]
I’m sure there aren’t many people on the planet who would deny the pure sex appeal of Jessica Alba. The woman is sexy. She’s beyond sexy. She’s a total marvel. She’s got the hot brooding seductress thing that Angelina Jollie has… and yet the sweet innocent girl next door thing … [Read More]

Title=Profit
Score=8
Summary=Seven multi-layered plot episodes make up this cancelled series from 1996. A dark and cleverly written series with the coldest character you’ll ever meet at the centre of the show. Unlike most series you’ll walk with this evil character and always end up rooting for him. For the most part it’s strong in script, direction and the Profit character, but begins to sag slightly in the latter episodes. Some superb commentaries make this DVD an excellent presentation of a series that should have been given more life.
You know, for all the bitching and moaning a lot of us do around here about the movies these day (and that includes posters and commentors) it struck me that I’ve never put together an authoritative list on the things that bug me about going to the movies these days. … [Read More]
I can’t believe how hysterical some Halo fans have become over the news that Peter Jackson has lent his name as an executive producer (who don’t actually do anything) to the upcoming Halo project. Don’t get me wrong… Jackson getting WETA involved with Halo is FANTASTIC news… but that’s all … [Read More]
