Sony Pictures has officially revealed the title and logo for Ghostbusters: Night Shift, a new animated series coming to Netflix. The announcement took place during the 2026 Ghostbusters Day celebrations, confirming that the premium series is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
The project is a collaboration between Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation. Showrunners Ben Hibon and Elliott Kalan, along with Ghost Corps executive producers Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, presented the new branding at the historic Hook & Ladder 8 firehouse in New York City.

Expanding the franchise into a premium animated format allows the creators to lean into the supernatural absurdity of the universe in ways that live action often cannot. By moving to Netflix, the series can build a deeper lore for the Ghostbusters world while appealing to a new generation of viewers.

A major highlight of the day was the success of the Ghostbusters Give Back initiative. Fan chapters worldwide raised over $516,000 for local causes. With a $150,000 matching donation from Sony Pictures, the total amount raised reached $666,000.
The Buffalo Ghostbusters, Los Angeles Ghostbusters, and Ghostbusters Virginia were recognized as the top three chapters for their fundraising efforts. Additionally, Sony Pictures presented a donation check to the Starlight Children’s Foundation to support pediatric patients.
Merchandise and Community Outreach
The celebration also included several new product reveals. Mattel launched a Gozer doll under the Monster High brand, while Hasbro unveiled a toy exclusive for San Diego Comic-Con. Rubber Road also introduced Ghostbusters themed rubber ducks.
Beyond the merchandise, the team continued their community work with a visit to the Maimonides Children’s Hospital in Brooklyn. Actress Celeste O’Connor joined the group to deliver themed hospital gowns and toys to children.
The franchise continues to grow from its roots as a 1984 phenomenon into a multi platform empire. Fans can find more information on the official Ghostbusters site.
