The superhero team in the hit Disney Jr. series SuperKitties has officially grown. A new full-length special titled The New SuperKitty premiered on Disney Jr. and Disney Jr. On Demand, revealing that Willa the Wildcat is now a permanent member of the cat-tastic team. The special is scheduled to arrive on Disney+ on Friday, August 7.
In the special, the existing team members put Willa to the test as they face a combined threat from Cat Burglar, voiced by Justin Guarini, and the Glamsters, voiced by Ginnifer Goodwin and Utkarsh Ambudkar. The group must work together to prevent the villains from taking over the town of Kittydale. To celebrate the character’s arrival, a new music video titled Ready to Su-Purr Roar was released alongside the special.
Expanding the SuperKitties Universe
The addition of Willa the Wildcat marks a significant milestone for the series, which has built a massive following since its debut in 2023. According to the network, the show has accumulated over 33.2 billion minutes watched across linear and streaming platforms. The series, created by Paula Rosenthal, continues to be a top-performing title for the preschool demographic.
Beyond the new special, fans can look forward to additional content arriving later this fall. Two more full-length specials are currently in production. The first, Howl-O-Ween Charm, will follow the team as they attempt to stop a group of Trixters from ruining the holiday. The second, Friendsgiving Feast, will feature guest stars Jenifer Lewis and Henry Winkler as they help the kittens protect their town’s traditions.
More Ways to Engage
The expansion of the franchise extends beyond the screen. Disney Consumer Products has released a new line of toys from Just Play, alongside apparel and books available at retailers nationwide. Additionally, the fan-favorite stage show Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties is set for a limited engagement at the Disney Jr. Let’s Play! Party at Disney California Adventure park on August 13, 2026.
The series regular voice cast for the current season includes Emma Berman, Cruz Flateau, Landon Chase Dubois, Pyper Braun, and Thea Gallagher as the newest member, Willa. All episodes of the first three seasons are currently available to stream on Disney+.
