Apple TV has officially unveiled the trailer for the second season of the acclaimed Spanish-language crime drama Women in Blue, also known as Las Azules. The sophomore season of the series is set to make its global debut on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with new episodes arriving weekly through September 30.
Created by International Emmy Award-winning showrunner and director Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi, the series continues the story of María, played by Bárbara Mori. Now promoted to lieutenant, María finds herself navigating a complex investigation involving the discovery of a student activist’s body, which links back to the student massacre of 1968. As the department faces corruption and mounting pressure, the Azules must fight to uncover the truth.
What to Expect in Season Two
The upcoming season promises to raise the stakes for the central characters. Alongside Mori, the cast features Natalia Téllez, Amorita Rasgado, and Ximena Sariñana. The ensemble also includes Miguel Rodarte, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Christian Tappan, Horacio García Rojas, and Bruno Bichir. The narrative will force the protagonists to confront the personal and professional costs of seeking justice within a compromised system.
The first season of the show earned significant critical acclaim, including a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. With the return of the creative team, including executive producers Wendy Riss and Billy Rovzar, the series looks to maintain its momentum as it explores this dark chapter of history.
