Universal is bringing a new level of terror to this year’s Halloween Horror Nights by incorporating the world of the global video game phenomenon, Fortnite. Both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood have announced a new, immersive scare zone inspired by Fortnitemares, the game’s signature Halloween event.
The collaboration aims to put a twisted spin on the popular battle royale title, transforming its digital aesthetic into a physical, walk-through experience for park guests. The new scare zone is scheduled to debut at Universal Orlando Resort beginning August 28, followed by a launch at Universal Studios Hollywood on September 3.
This addition marks a notable crossover between interactive gaming and live-action theme park entertainment. By bringing a recognizable digital event into the physical space of the parks, Universal continues to lean into pop culture franchises to drive interest in its seasonal horror offerings. Fans of the game can expect to see the signature atmosphere of Fortnitemares translated into the high-energy, scare-heavy environment that the event is known for.
