Netflix has officially renewed its comedy competition series Funny AF with Kevin Hart for a second season. The announcement arrives as the show and its host, Kevin Hart, are currently in the midst of Emmy campaigns for Outstanding Reality Competition Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.
The first season of the series, which premiered in April, concluded with Ron Taylor being named the inaugural winner during the Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2026. The show features Hart alongside a rotating group of comedy heavyweights who help evaluate rising stand-up talent. The competition is known for its live final rounds, which allow global audiences to vote in real-time to determine the winner.
What to Expect in Season 2
According to the latest update, the second season is expected to release in 2027. The format will remain consistent with the first season, continuing to feature live episodes and real-time voting. The series has been recognized for its role in talent incubation, with the first season spending over three weeks in the Netflix Top 10.
The success of the series aligns with Hart’s ongoing partnership with the streamer. In the last two years, his projects on the platform have generated more than 1 billion views. Beyond his work on this competition series, Hart is set to appear in the upcoming R-rated comedy 72 Hours, which is directed by Tim Story and co-stars Marcello Hernández.
The series is produced by Hartbeat and Alfred Street Industries. Executive producers include Hart, Jane Lipsitz, Dan Cutforth, Nan Strait, Dan Volpe, Luke Kelly-Clyne, Meghan Hoffman, Jeff Clanagan, and Jenny Groom.
