John Talks with First Snow Star William Fichtner

The other say I had the crazy pleasure of talking to William Fichtner about his new upcoming movie First Snow, which oddly enough I just put up a post about the trailer a couple of days ago. You may not recognize Fichtner’s name, but you will recognize his face. He’s one of the most prolific and recognizable character actors working in the business today… and on top of that it turns out he’s a great guy.

I talked to William about First Snow, but I’m including the stuff we talked about before we got around to First Snow… for no other reason than to give you guys an idea of how personable and nice this dude really is. I’ve done a bunch of phone interviews before, and usualy the Celebrity can’t wait to get the conversation over with and get off the phone… but William instantly started talking to me about Hockey (he’s a hockey fan… which means I’ll be a fan of his now for life), his trip to my home town of Hamilton (that’s how the conversation starts) to see a Pink Floyd concert when he was younger… and then more hockey. I was blown away by how nice this guy really is.

You can listen to the conversation here

  1. Thanks for the great interview – I just came across it looking for a cinema showing this film. What a doll he is! And so talented. Been a big fan since Contact and Strange Days – I’m convinced there isn’t a role he can’t play (see Tardio in What’s the Worst if you doubt me). I’d love to see First Snow, I’m a big Indie Film fan but . . but but BUT where the h*ll is it showing????

  2. William Fitchner is one of the best and you’re right John, he’s such a versatile actor. I hadn’t heard about First Snow but now I’ll be sure to keep my eye out for it.

  3. His diversity is amazing. From such a timid character as the one he did in Contact to what he did in Armageddon to what he now does in Prison Break.
All I can say is WOW!!!!

  4. William Fichtner is possibly my favorite actor. He just captivates me with every role he does. Some of my other favorite movie roles he’s done have been Go, The Chumscrubber., and Contact I started watching Prison Break in season 2 just because they added him. And his episode of The West Wing is still my favorite of that series. The guy is so versatile and so very real in every performance.

I always tell my friends that if I ever made a movie, he’d be the very first actor I’d look to put in it!

  5. You were right. I damn sure know that face!
“Requesting permission to shake the hand of the daughter of the bravest man I’ve ever met.” Waaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. That’s a cool guy. But someone should tell him it’s called Iverwin Stadium, Not Tiger Cat Stadium. LOL. Ok, but what a cool guy to do this interview with you. Can’t wait to see the movie!
