28 Weeks Later Images

Now here is a movie Doug can get into as we know he digs the post apocalyptic stuff and picks up right after 28days Later, well 24 weeks after, and tells us what happens next. Which is the part I wanted to see when the credits rolled. That and it has a title that even John can wrap his head around the chronology.

Blackfilm.com gives us:

Six months after the rage virus has annihilated the British Isles, the US Army declares that the war against infection has been won, and that the reconstruction of the country can begin. Under the strict supervision of the U.S. Military, the first wave of refugees is allowed back into the city. Among them are Don (Robert Carlyle), his new girlfriend Scarlett (Rose Byrne), and Don’s two children. Don lost his wife during the original infection, while Scarlett lost her entire family. All seems under control until a new carrier of the virus makes his way within the quarantined area. As the only known live specimen, he becomes a vital tool to the scientists who hope to learn from their discovery. Call it carelessness or call it bad luck, but the virus eventually spreads once again and now may be even more difficult to contain than the first time around. Jeremy Renner plays Sgt. Doyle who is part of the American Special Forces team working on restoring order in London. Harold Perrineau will co-star as Flynn, an upbeat Special Forces pilot who leads the families returning to London to their safety, while documenting the ordeal with his camera. Elba plays General Stone is the guy overseeing district 1 in London.

  1. My only concern about the movie is if it is being shot in digital video or in 35mm film. Part of what made 28 days later so good is that it was film in digital video, it is also more flexible to film this way. If anyone has this info, i would like to know.

  2. Nord, I dont quite get how you figure you have “burned” me.

The first movie was 28 days later which refers to the time after cataclysmic event that lead to the plague. 28 weeks later was 24 weeks after the same event plus the first movie.

  3. Oh man. I’m not sure I like this. I enjoyed the first film but this one seems so contrived with the US army involved and all. I am a big fan of Harold Perrineau so I may be inclined to see it if the trailer looks good but at this point, I’m really not all that excited about it.

  4. I am eagerly anticipating this film. I love feckin Begby! In addition to the fine cast you already mentioned, it also features Idris Elba who I have recently begun to really dig. The name may not be familiar to you, but he played Crime Kingpin and Businessman “Stringer Bell” in HBO’s “The Wire”. If you have not watched this series and you are a fan of seriously good writing in a tv show, you owe it to yourself to check it out.

They released a production clip. for 28 Weeks Later too.

I really enjoyed “Intacto” and am looking forward to what the director may do with such a different film.

  5. I’m very much looking forward to this one.
Great premise, great cast (Robert Carlyle!) and zombies always make me happy.
And before any of you wisecreackers tries to correct me, I know that the infected in 28 days weren’t technically Zombies, but who cares?

By the way, wanna see the coolest thing ever, with the coolest guy ever?
