Joquin Phoenix In Reservation Road

I do love Joquin Phoenix in dramatic roles. He just nails every moment. Gladiator wouldnt have been the same without that performance. And now Phoenix is doing another moving drama with Mark Ruffalo called Reservation Road.

Cinema Confidential says:

The drama, based on the book by John Burnham Schwartz, tell of two fathers on opposite sides of a hit and run. (Ruffalo’s character kills Phoenix’s son and flees.) The movie will follow how the tragedy affects both men in heavy ways.

Sounds like a great story idea.

Phoenix will do well, I can count on that. But I haven’t seen Ruffalo in anything but romantic comedies. Can he even do drama this serious? Will I be able to take him seriously? It will be interesting to see.

  1. I’m really looking forward to this film. I agree, Phoenix is a phenomenal actor. Stunning, diverse performances in films like Quills, and Buffalo Soldiers, and his work in Return to Paradise was as Ridley Scott said, “As good as it gets.” His work in Walk the Line is hands-down the best acting performance of the past decade.

  2. i have seen “walk the line” 10x and cant get enough/wow i am a 44 yr old mother of 5 and do i have a story line for you/you are perfect/i am a very big fan/i have never seen such excellent acting/hit me up

  3. Ruffalo also did “In The Cut”, “My Life Without Me” and “XX/XY”. He definitely can do drama and I am looking forward to seeing both Phoenix and Ruffalo in the two main roles.

  4. Eternal Sunshine, You Can Count On Me, We Don’t Live Here Anymore, Collateral, the upcoming All the King’s Men – I think Ruffalo is one of the better actors today, and he can definitely pull off drama.

By the way, it’s a great book and Terry George did a great job with Hotel Rwanda. I’ll be looking forward to it.
