David Beckham is pulled from Goal!

DavidBeckham.jpgSaved! News is that David Beckham can no longer commit to starring in the forthcoming football (or soccer if you’re that side of the world) movie Goal!. The Guardian have the story:

…his club prevented him from taking time off to appear in the football movie Goal!. Beckham was due to film his scenes last week, but his Real Madrid coach told him his football had to come first.

[Insert pause]…Now, don’t knock the post, it’s a legitimate movie story, if not a bit pun filled. Interestingly he’s still listed in IMDB as being on the movie, I wonder if this will hurt the film much?

  1. I thought Beckhman had already said no to this film because of his football career. I read somewhere…I think MSN…that he turned down the role because he didn’t have time.
Will this hurt the film? I don’t know – there is a strong core following for the sport. “Bend It Like Beckhman,” though might have benefited some cause his name was tossed in the title, was a excellent film. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it as much as I did.

  2. Man…I’m completely against anyone that hasn’t already proven themselves in acting getting a starring role in anything on screen. Especially Musicians and Athletes! Unless he has acting credibility, does he?

Joking…I think any movie having to do with soccer (football) may be hurt a bit by loosing a professional such as David Beckham.
