The Camp Rock 3 franchise is officially staging a major reunion. Disney announced that Demi Lovato will reprise her iconic role as Mitchie Torres in the upcoming film. Beyond her on-screen appearance, Lovato is also serving as an executive producer for the project, marking a significant return to the musical series that helped launch her career nearly two decades ago.
The new installment is scheduled to premiere on August 13 on Disney Channel at 8:00 p.m. EDT/PDT, with the film becoming available to stream the following day on Disney+. The story follows the members of Connect 3 as they return to their beloved camp to find a new opening act for a major reunion tour. As campers compete for the spotlight, friendships are tested and unexpected alliances form.
The return of Lovato to the Camp Rock universe is a notable development for long-time fans. Given the massive success of the original films, which have accumulated over 535 million hours of viewing time, the inclusion of original cast members provides a bridge between the nostalgic roots of the franchise and the new generation of talent being introduced in this latest chapter.
A New Generation Joins the Franchise
While Lovato and the Jonas Brothers—Joe, Nick, and Kevin—are returning to their roles, the film introduces a fresh ensemble cast. Newcomers include Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Sherry Cola, Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, Brooklynn Pitts, and Ava Jean. Maria Canals-Barrera also returns to the fold, maintaining the connection to the original films.
The creative team behind the project includes director Veronica Rodriguez and writer Eydie Faye, both known for their work on The Slumber Party. The film is produced by Disney Kids and Family, with choreography by Jamal Sims. Tim Federle, who previously helmed High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, joins the production as an executive producer alongside the Jonas brothers and Lovato.
Music and Tour Updates
The musical legacy of the series continues with the release of the first single, One Beat Away, performed by Liamani and the cast. The track is currently available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify. Fans can also look forward to the full soundtrack, which arrives digitally on August 14, with a vinyl release following on September 18.
In addition to the film, the Worlds Collide Concert Tour is set to return to North America in the fall of 2026. The tour will feature stars from the Camp Rock, Descendants, and ZOMBIES franchises, visiting 49 arenas across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
