What are you talking about?! “Blade” did NOT make Wesley Snipes famous!!! He was well famous long before the cameras ever rolled on Blade (1998).

“Major League” made him famous back in 1989.

In the decade between Major League and Blade, Wesley starred in, among others: “Passenger 57”, “New Jack City”, “US Marshals”, “Demolition Man”, “Rising Sun”, “Too Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything Julie Newmar” and “White Men Can’t Jump”… just to name a few!

I would love to see another Blade being made, especially with Snipes in the role again, however the only other actor who I think could match him in the martial arts department would be Michael Jai White, I think he could do a fairly good Blade.

This was the role that made him famous. but with his tax problems and jail sentence has made his acting career go pfft. I don’t know if there’s another black guy who could match the karate / martial arts expertise of Snipes in portraying Blade. I mean Snipes WAS Blade.
