This was filmed right down the road from me. Go fishing in that area sometimes. I’m gonna have to watch myself. I read TMB all the time. When I saw this I couldn’t wait to click the play button. It looks like some campy fun. Sharks actually do come up da bayou sometimes. Dood stuff.

I agree with you. I like it too. and I think I saw two nods to Jaws:

1. the shark chumming scene, right before Roy Scheider says “we’re gonna need a bigger boat”

2. the obvious sniper rifle from the Jaws finale

wait… maybe a 3rd one – the rope scene, where the shark pulls the rope and someone happens to be caught on the line.

hahahaha!

that sure was something. I like the fact that most shark movies should have some sort of water festival or fair to increase the body count. Jaws started it and it seems everyone just followed the formula.

for this movie here, we have a gator fest and yet people are not afraid of going into the water. lo and behold, gators are the least of their worries!

and I’m betting that in this movie, the town mayor/fest organizer will not believe the shark story (cmon! a swamp shark?) but once it gets bad or he gets his legs bitten by the shark, he’ll believe it! ;)
