This has been my favorite books since my bf gave it to me for my 16th Birthday. I'm very excited to see it being made into a movie it's a wish come true lol. Only worry that it won't stay true to every topic as controversial as they may be. I'm sure Chbosky will stay true to his book at least I hope so. I keep reading how everyone is worried about Emma playing Sam, but I'm excited to see her in this role she's a great actress I think she can pull it off. I can't wait to hear the rest of the cast.

I feel EXACTLY the same. The movie would not do the book justice if they glossed over things. The rawness and reality of the book is what I fell in love with, and if they changed or took out any 'controversial' subject matter, I'd be very upset.

That being said, this is my absolute favorite book, and I am SO excited to see the movie!!! :D

great casting. i would have loved to see logan lerman as spidey as he's much better than other actors mentioned and is a fan favorite but if he's going to do perks and some other films, his career seems to be on a the fast-track. he's got a wide range for an actor his age. Emma has the potential to be the most successful among the potter kids and has outdistanced her hp co-stars in popularity. as long as the author is true to the spirit of his original work, this is definitely a must-see film next yr

I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. Ever since I read the book 7 years ago I've been dying for them to make it into a movie. The only thing is, they NEED to keep the story just the way it is, heavy issues and all or kids are going to be very pissed. I think Emma would make a good Sam, I can really see her pulling that off.

Emma Watson is consistently the only one who shows any talent out of all the 'kids' on Harry Potter (not to say that some of them haven't done any other good work outside of Harry Potter, just that she's been the only one who's delivered any kind of consistent performance inside the franchise). I think she'll be fine -- and it'll serve her well to get outside of the Hermione Granger mold.

I read this book when I was in a book club, it kinda made me a little uncomfortable at times with the explicit sexual stuff.

Making it into a film, this one is not something i'd be angry if they adapted loosely.

I remember liking that book when I read it in high school. It seemed very similar to Catcher in the Rye. I hope they keep the edginess, and anything with Emma Watson I would be interested in, just to see if it is Hermoine in different clothes. I remember a few scenes, though that are quite controversial...could be interesting.
