  1. Excellent looking forward to it Doug. Will it contain the choice tracks “International Friends” and “We√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢re all going to Utah”? If it didn’t have those classics I just don√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t think I would be able to buy it :p

  2. Ass master 12 eh? Sounds like great film :D

Can’t wait to see Hostel, and yes I am a fan of gratuitous sex and violence. Shame I have to wait till the end of March to see it over here in the UK.

I think Grandma’s Boy will have to wait till it gets a DvD release, the way i look at seeing movies at the cinema compared to on my Tv at home is (1) Am I looking forward to the film and can’t wait the 3-4 months for it to pop up on Dvd (2) Does this film need to be seen at the cinema, will a giant screen and a black room make the jokes funnier?

The whole Brokeback Mountain thing is fair enough really. If it was a little indie cinema where the owner knew it wouldn’t make much money or he just didn’t feel comfortable showing it that√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s fine. However being pressured into not showing by certain groups that√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s just not right, every cinema owner has their right to show whatever they hell they want.

Good show as usual, but there is one question on the tip of everyone√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s lips, When is Doug’s ukulele album being released?

  3. Doug Nagy is great.

    Anyway, moving on:

    1) I don’t think DVD feature awards are a good idea. Would it include double or triple dippers? Also, I believe Fangoria Magazine has a best of year list where winners get a golden chainsaw award; one of the categories is best DTV release.

    2) Hostel. I’m still not sure if I want to see it. I might, given that Eli Roth helmed ‘Cabin Fever’. The reason why I might not is that from what you describe, there doesn’t seem to be much of a story. Another film opened a few days ago. We all are wise to avoid even mentioning the film. But y’lnow what? I think BIlly Zane was reading the wrong fan boards. He saw comments for Hostel, and that’s where he got the idea for raincoats.

Doug may be great, but I also disagree with the the nudity theory. There have been many successful horror films that didn’t have lots of nudity. There have also been many successful horror films which didn’t need buckets of blood.

    3) I avoid anything that has to do with Adam Sandler unless Adam Sandler is in it. If Rob Schinder is in it or does a pointless and distracting cameo like ‘Longest Yard’, I’m tempted to avoid it. David Spade is fine; but he needs another ‘Just Shoot Me’. From what John descibes the cameos were not needed?

    4) ‘Brokeback’- I think someone is making a big stink out of this. So a theatre decides not to screen it. If folks want to see it bad enough, go to the place where it is showing and give them the business. End of story. It’s one theater, why give it the press?

I think that the story follows very quickly on the Gene Shalit dismissal, and the whole thing smells rotten to me. Either execs are trying to stir contreversy so more people get curious enough to go see what the fuss is about, to get the Extreme Left Stand Up Against Censorship to rally aound an overrrated movie to begin with, or it is the beginnings of a Brokeback backlash? If the latter, watch what happens with ‘Capote’.

  4. Great. People are praising off-key singing and popping microphones. Don’t we have enough of that in those american idol commercials? I was just about to comment on how that garbage is just plain lame but i guess the hosts will be favor the “doug is great” praise comments over the criticism.

Seriously, if you’re going to keep having doug do his obnoxious singing then at least invest into a compressor so you could quit cracking our speakers and eardrums.

  5. Now where are my notes for today’s show..I found it. There’s only one, and it doesn’t really have to do with the show, but I think it will still help things: RID THE BLOG OF THE BRUNTON!!!!

  6. Great show today. Doug: kudos to your singing abilities!

Utah is Mordor. Doug is a genius!

So when can we expect the promised “Best of The Audio Edition Recap Episode”?? I’d love to hear it.
