  1. I have been coming to themovieblog for about a year now, but have only recently started listening to audio edition… Let me tell you… Doug, you are freakin hysterical. Always good fun with audio edition…

  2. What was this podvast about again? Endless babble.

    1) You talk about the Serenity DVD but *really* don’t talk about it.

Yes, I liked the film, you are right about the reavers, but the reavers

weren’t the “real” bad guys in the film.

I am not, nor have ever really been, a Joss Whedon fan. I still hold him accountable for what I disliked most about 1997’s ‘Alien Ressurection’, (Whedon put the one liners in); I never got into Buffy much less Angel. I mildly liked Firefly from what I seen before the network messed with it.

But I have looked though the special features. While Whedon bungles his “introduction”, he makes up for it in deleted scenes and a very entertaining audio commentary. There was nice comic con fooage as well.

    2) Star Wars. Thought it was good, but the Batman film should have gotten best film. It was more enjoyable. Still, no complaints. HOWEVER whoever the hell voted Jessica Simpson for best song for ‘Dukes Of Hazzard’ smoked some serious doobage. But then when I think it over, there were no good tunes from movies…except one from ‘Hustle And Flow’- “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp” cause dammit, y’know it’s a family show.

    3) Hostel sequel. I think another one can be pulled off. Sure, I’d prefer a sequel to Roth’s “Cabin Fever”- but hey…. what if Hostel II had Rider Strong in it?

    4) I am looking forward to ‘Tristan’- it is produced by the Scott brothers (Ridley and Tony) and is helmed by one of the most underrated directors out there- Kevin Reynolds.

Reynolds previous film was “Count Of Monte Christo”, which I loved. I always reccomend his 1988 film “The Beast” as well, about the Russian tank lost in the Afgan desert.

True, Reynolds helmed “Waterworld” and “Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves”, but if you do some digging it appears the Kevin Costner films were tinkered with by Costner and the studios.

Also, if you like one actor (James Franco) and like the actress as well, isn’t that a reason for curiousity? You are, however, right about the rock song in the trailer. It’s a good tune, but it does not really belong.

Another true story/sports film from the Mouse House. This almost seems like an annual thing, doesn’t it? ‘Remember The Titans’ was great, box office hit, and really kicked it off with Disney. I lost intrest after ‘Miracle’- a good film but looked more like a Lifetime/ESPN TV movie.

In any case, this was without question, the worst podcast you two have done to date.

Sorry for the bad news. Doug loses points for not remembering Jenny McCarthy’s name. She’s single now I hear, says she can’t find dates. God knows she didn’t look in Michigan, and if she’s forgotten in The Great White North, she won’t be looking there either.
