Must See Movies Released In January

The BP oil disaster rocked many, but the story behind the people who were on the oil rig that exploded and caused the huge spill, is finally told. Director Peter Berg joins up again with Mark Wahlberg as his lead actor in another movie based on true events. There have been recent releases of movies based on recent events (Sully, Patriots Day) that have had extensive coverage in media, but the story of these individuals hasn’t been chronicled much. The movie focuses on the individual and collective jobs as well as the camaraderie between these men and women, as they prepare the monstrous rig for the drilling. The film has a lot of heart and it does a nice job telling the story of the events that lead up to the explosion and the aftermath of it. These are ordinary people that you don’t hear much about and probably never think of, this is a story that had to be told and you should watch it for yourself. I am much more educated about it because of this film.

Deepwater Horizon is available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, Digital HD and On Demand.
