If they’re tie in films then it doesn’t make sense to have Wolverine in them at all since his character was introduced in the first X-men film. However if the series is starting over then the role of Wolverine should go to a young and relatively unknown actor, as Jackman was when he took on the part. It’s better to have a talented, up and coming actor with a lot to gain from signing on to a mutli-picture deal than to have an established star who is liable to abandon the role in favor of other opportunities. “The Dark Knight”, “Hulk”, “Iron Man”, have all suffered casting changes that, while minor, effected the continueity of their respective series. But since Jackman is still around we don’t have to worry about that for a while.
