I actually thought this movie was fairly bad. The reason being is that I did not care about these characters at all the reason being was the lack of a filter on the character stories meaning that there were to many. I would have focused on a few in order to have the audience actually get caught up in the story the number of characters prevented me from getting a feel for any of the characters. Also the dog fights were not exciting to me they were just to PG for lack of any other words to describe them. I would like to see a redo because the story is just so awesome.

The movie was not that good. It should NOT have been corny. But thats what you get when the writer is the creator of The Boon Docks. The script was the worst. I really didn’t care about any of the characters. They had no substance – cliche name..”lighting, Easy” etc.. If any good will come out, It will at least brng attention to the Airmen for young black men. I saw a play in NYC last summer called Black Angels Over Tuskegee about the Airmen and it was the most powerful touching piece of theatre I have seen in the last 15 years. If in NY go see it. It was a full account of their life. George should have gotten Layon Gray the writer of the play to create his story.

Your excellent review is right on target! A good-old-fashioned fun movie with a HEART. I am so glad you are pointing out that the film makes you care about the characters in the story, and that their friendships are warm. This is the element that has been missing in current trend of filmmaking, and is so good to see it coming back, together with the innocent heroism of idealistic youth. These human qualities are routinely belittled by the press, which has become much too cynical to value them; but they will never stop pleasing audiences because they are the stuff we are made of.

A great story that should’ve been a great movie. No such luck. The real Red Tails deserve so much more than this crap.

For me, the tepid (sometimes golly gee) dialogue and sub-par, predictable plot outweighed the sometimes impressive CGI flight scenes. It just takes something away from the movie when, during a “life or death” battle scene, a pilot sounds more like a boy scout at a bonfire than someone who is hyped on adrenaline and fear.

Well this movie (Red Tails) will be wonderful movie to watch. Mostly because of the Well written story! All the reviews i’v been reading online , they all say the same about the story after the movie. Personally i can’t wait to see this movie. To bad that it wont come to sweden until august i’v heard ;)
