Eduardo Noriega joins The Last Stand

Casting seems to be picking up with the Last Stand as today we learn that another cast member has been added for the upcoming Governator flick. This latest addition is none other than Eduardo Noriega who was most recently in the Butch Cassidy movie “Blackthorn”.

South Korean helmer Kim Jee-Woon directs the action pic, which finds Schwarzenegger playing the sheriff of a sleepy little town who runs up against an escaped drug cartel leader heading for the Mexican border.

Noriega will play Cortez, a ruthless fugitive who plans to flee to Mexico in a Gumpert Apollo with $400 million.

Rodrigo Santoro, Jaimie Alexander, Peter Stormare and Zach Gilford co-star in the film, which is being produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

This is kinda exciting news but I haven’t seen Butch Cassidy but I do vaguely remember his performance in the movie Vantage Point. I don’t dislike his inclusion at all which says a lot. I don’t know how many casting additions they may make but the movie is scheduled to hit theaters on Jan 18th 2013, so I expect them to begin filming sometime in the near future.
