The remake of the 1982 classic finally has a trailer. Arthur is the story of a drunken and wealthy playboy, who will be cut off from the family fortune if he doesn’t marry the woman his family want him to. It stars Russel Brand and Helen Mirren. Heres the trailer guys
Hmmm… I was excited about this when I saw who the cast was and when I saw Russel dressed as Batman. But I have to say, this trailer doesn’t do it for me. Looks kind of…. boring, and passable. I usually LOVE Russel Brand (he’s pretty huge in the UK/Ireland, has he made it big in North America yet?) but this just seems like a restrained him. He’s best when he’s let loose. Maybe I’m judging it too early, but based on that trailer alone, I probably won’t bother going to see it. Oh well.

dang it…it looks pretty good.
I recently re-watched the original with Dudley Moore and I’ve got to say this trailer doesn’t make this remake look as bad as I was expecting. My only concern is that they’ve “un-boozed” the character a bit. In the original Dudley Moore acted like he was slurring every word that came out of his mouth and this version seems to be a bit more subdued. I’ve never been a Brand-Fan but I think I’ll give this one a shot.
Anyone else think this one might be better than the original?
This guy is hilarious, but I can easily see this character wearing thin in the future.
